Duration: Sat 9am - Sun 4pm

As one of the primary demographics at risk of experiencing a potentially dangerous situation in the outdoors, wilderness survival skills are essential for the hunter. With proper knowledge and preparation you can go farther into the back-country in pursuit of your quarry without the worry of what will happen if you get turned around.

As a complimentary skill, wildlife tracking can improve our performance before and after the shot. Not only can well-honed tracking skills help us find game more efficiently and boost our kill retention, it can also make the rest of the time we spend in the woods more enjoyable.

In this course you will learn:

  • Survival fire-making skills
  • Emergency shelter building
  • Water purification techniques
  • Aided and aidless navigation methods
  • Pros and cons of various clothing systems
  • Wildlife track & sign identification and interpretation
  • Trailing skills - following subtle signs to find animals
