Designed for teachers, parents, and mentors, this course introduces you to a powerful nature-based model of education that helps kids develop and grow while learning valuable skills and having fun. Participants learn practical tools for becoming a more effective wilderness mentor for kids. Topics covered in the course include storytelling, lesson planning using natural learning cycles, and many nature-based activities and games. This course is co-taught by Allan Sande of
Quiet Heart Wilderness School
and Jason Knight of Alderleaf. Allan and Jason both have many years of experience in coordinating, designing, and teaching wilderness programs for kids. Participants come away with tools on how to reach children in this modern, fast moving life we live in.
5 WA State clock hours are available through The Heritage Institute.
